Be prepared to grind a bit, but it is worth it. Came back with fish for a full 8 person dinner.

Doc-Lines Fishing Charters
I would go with Palm State Fishing and Parker, especially if you will be taking children. He was awesome with my son, even extending the trip a bit to give him more opportunities to catch fish. Absolutely awesome experience!

Edisto sun will burn you in minutes. Prepare, hydrate, and bring something to cover up with. Thunderstorms popped up on us without warning, so prepare for the heat and rain.

Captain Mathew and Mate Riley, were both very knowledgeable and helpful. The inshore fishing excursion was an overall great experience, mostly because of them and how they made the most of what mother nature gave us. We had a lot of fun and will definitely go fishing again with this duo.

Only downside was that the noseeums were brutal. A light wind would have cured that, but we happened to pick the stillest day all week.

Palm State Fishing
Inshore bite was good but had to look for them as the creeks were simply awash in bait. Shrimp were jumping everywhere. If possible pick a non windy day and you'll be up to your eyeballs in speckled trout. Probably would be better fishing in a couple weeks when it cools a bit more and the bait volume declines more, the fish were spoiled for choice.

Try and go in the spring or fall when water temperatures are more suited for fishing in this area. Yes you can catch in the summer but it's much harder.

Go in the morning before it gets too hot! It’s very peaceful early in the morning too. Fishing with live shrimp is where it’s at.

Knowledgeable guide is almost a given if you’re targeting Redfish or Seatrout since access to the various tidal creeks is only feasible by boat. Really need to see it to believe the maze of creeks. Oh, and the tides in the area rise and fall over 6 feet each day. Never seen that before. It’s like the marsh is breathing - recirculating the
fresh and salt water the fish thrive in.
